How to make a CV in 5 steps

  1. Pick a template — modern, minimal or classic. You can switch templates at any time without losing what you have entered.
  2. Fill in your personal details: name, profession, phone, email and city.
  3. Add your work experience and education, with 3–5 concrete duties or achievements per role.
  4. List your skills, languages, certifications and projects.
  5. Review your CV and download it as a PDF, or share it with a link.

What a good CV includes

Recruiters skim a CV first, so the most important information belongs at the top: your name, profession and contact details, followed by a two- or three-sentence summary of who you are and what you are good at.

List work experience from most recent to oldest. Where you can, state results with numbers — "grew sales by 20%" says more than "worked in sales". Keep the CV to one page, two at most.

An ATS-friendly CV

Many employers screen applications with an applicant tracking system (ATS) first. Every template here is built so that such systems read the text correctly — no tables and no text embedded in images. A final check shows what your CV is still missing, such as contact details or skills.
